High mileage cars
What’s your experience?

Highest I’ve taken a runner to is 145k and sold it for more than I bought it at 90k

Is bangernomics the future in the mad max post COVID dystopia?

One of my work colleagues had that happen to her.
Who thought it was a good idea to have a chain driven oil pump in the bottom of the engine?
She gave me her mobile when the garage called as she didn't understand what they were saying. The pump seized and threw the chain into the moving bits of the bottom end. The guy from garage said "It is mostly swarf".

Yeah mate, the hex in the pump (like an Allen key) is to short to drive the pump, the end wears blunt and the pump fails, once the oil warning light comes on its already too late, recalled and sorted free of charge in USA and other countries, but not here

Stay away from Audi 2.0tdi from 2005 to 2009 no matter what the mileage
Oil pump issues that can fuck the whole engine
Known issue as they sell convertor kits......the cunts

In my experience you cant go wrong with German made anything. I've never had an Audi though. Perhaps you drove it like a cunt?

I'd have had a Lexus if they weren't the ugliest cars in the history of the world. It'll live forever but you wont want it to if you have to look at the ugly cunt every day.

Honestly German cars started to go to pot in the late 1990's. If you want the most reliable car, buy a Lexus

Or any Jap car

I would like to defend Jaguars, but my XJ12 has 160,00 KM and like Spandex I’m planning a manual conversion because I screwed up the crappy THREE speed GM400 automatic (what the fuck were they thinking fitting that!)

Lovely car, when it goes...

Anything German will generally do 200k comfortably, as long as routine maintenance is done. Anything Jaguar/Land rover group and you're going to be picking bits of it up off the road and the interior will have disintegrated by 70k. Really poor quality.

You are kidding, right? I have a 2002 Audi S8, a otal epic fucking car, except by 118k it had eaten TWO gearboxes. That's why you don't see these majestic beasts anymore. Except mine, which is now awaiting a manual conversion!

I bought a new SEAT Ibiza TDi 1.9 100 horses in 2004.
We’ve done all the services and are on 256,000 miles.
Never had a problem,
Keep thinking I should buy a new car, but what is the point, this one is great.

Aalborg my dad had a 406 executive, bought it at 105k and took it close to 200k. Had absolutely everything on it, was a lovely motor

How do you convert a diesel/petrol to electric?

You take out the engine, tank etc and put in a motor, batteries etc. A few brave people have done this themselves I will be using a specialist company. Small cars are harder as you need to find space for the batteries. Larger cars are a bit silly as you need lots of batteries but I love the comfort of the P38 Range Rover and will get one in really good nick. Electrified it will last for ever. Very little cost for a long time.
